Pros

Good as a part time job or second job for those in need, also good for high school and college students. Wal-marts are everywhere Semi-decent work opportunities.

Cons

Treated badly by any management above store level(district management, regional, home office). Intelligence and actually usable ideas are thrown out the window. Asset protection is basically a joke, employees who have been caught stealing are given a second chance, customers are allowed to walk out the doors with high price items with out anything said. What you know is related to your job title and pay grade, not weather or not you need to know the information or how it could effect you. Customers treat you like you are a idiot, even when it's your job to know more about a product then they could image.

Pros

Growth opportunities. Wal-Mart has several companies within itself. You can have several very different careers within Wal-Mart.

Cons

Being the biggest company in the World has down sides.

Pros

Working at a place with such a high volume of sales gives a lot of opportunity to learn.

Cons

Being the remote outpost of a huge company means you are never the center of the discussion, so a lot of effort goes into coordinating with headquarters in scenic Bentonville, Arkansas.
