Pros

Work life balance has become the best i have ever had. Three days on and three days off for day shifts while 4 days on and 4 days off for night shift. New structure helps with family life and planning for future personal responcibilities. Compensation has gotten better for all associates over the past three years.

Cons

Including vision insurance would assist many employees and their families. New management structure leaves little time for associate and personal development. Extremely fast paced and result driven as it should be.

Pros

Nothing much. Why do you not see all those happy employee commercials on any more. Employees could not figure out where those people worked. The 10% employee discount may be important and helpful to employees.

Cons

Long hours required for Assistant Managers. The store manager would direct the assistant managers to "get rid" of store personnel whom they did not personally care for. Saw much discrimination towards both staff and customers who were "different". Poor employee morale-if an employee had a complaint about a CSM or higher-they were labeled a troublemaker. There is a very low wage scale for all except senior management. It seemed the better a manager could lie, the farther they got.

Pros

If you act like an idiot they will ignore you and not make you work hard. There are actually some good managers in California. Wal Mart in California is probably more concerned that the state will force them treat people fairly and more likely to allow all Wal Marts to become Union.

Cons

If you have any intelligence the upper level managers will beat you down in fear for their jobs and work you to death. Managers are paid more to keep wages low! There is a direct link to what Wal Mart calls LOSS that is to say WAGES and managers bonuses!!! There is a constant effort to remove any kind of power from the employees. And if you say you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your job, training, leadership, you get canned.
