Pros

Few of the people around me were one of the only decent things about this company, but the good ones are the first to leave. WFH flexibility.

Cons

Literally everything. It's like a bingo game of all the things that could go wrong during your employment. Mess up your pay so you don't get your salary, and then not have it fully corrected for several months? Check. Have an HR member tell you to stop whining about your missing pay when casually mentioning it at work drinks? Check. Be on the bench for several months at a time? Check. Have zero transparency on what's actually going on within the company and get blindsided by layoffs (pre covid)? Check. Make you interview without prep for awful client work that involves working 6 days a week with 10-12 hour days, so you can avoid being laid off? Check. Be forced to use the worlds worst intranet that crashes for days at a time to complete mandatory tasks that if incomplete will lead to a pay deduction/withholding? Check. Be sent monthly "wall of shame" emails about actual people (names redacted) who were fired within the company for breaking company rules? Check. I'm not exaggerating, they actually titled the emails WALL OF SHAME and gave all the details of their misconduct. Oh and the pay is mediocre too, and when I tried try to negotiate a higher salary I was told by an HR member that they were "disappointed " in me. Once working here, you become stuck. You feel like you've wasted so much time doing nothing of value, that you are put off by applying for work elsewhere. I'm glad I got out when I did.

Pros

As with any other global services organization, one gets exposure to a large client base globally.

Cons

Legacy long timers with an inertia to change, and experts at gaming the internal systems, are among the root cause of Wipro still struggling below the $10 billion revenue mark, while competitors like HCL keep chugging past Wipro. There are many senior positions with great titles but zero empowerment to make a decision as trivial as hiring and assigning resources to projects. Digital Consulting. A lot of big talk about Strategy, CIO Advisory, Transformation, and what not. That's merely a PPT wrapper. Off comes the wrapper, and the reality is that the Consulting organization is a low-end staff augmentation shop, (mis)managed by a visionless leadership. A total hogwash, unworthy of being called a Consulting org. Practice Directors are tossed into (any kind of) client engagements with 100% billability, leaving no bandwidth to build a practice. The answer to any question is, "Get yourself billable ASAP". Clear indicator of incompetent leadership. Guess what, such leadership survives and thrives, purely on basis of glossy quarterly reports & spreadsheets full of hogwash. Many engagements reported by the Consulting organization, are merely internal cost transfers, and not real tangible revenues. There are also "ecosystems" in Wipro that report revenues with double & triple counting (indirect revenue credits in engagements where involvement of the reporting unit has been zero). It is like the painter claiming credits for building the whole house, just because they just had "some involvement" ! No wonder, the "real" revenue growth has been below industry standard.

Pros

None, unless you are based in India then the HQ can offer a solid career path.

Cons

No encouragement of learning or growth No leadership at all, zero, nada Wipro digital was set up to offer digital transformation service to Wipro's clients. It was supposed to spurs on innovation, change the perception of Wipro and attract talents. The fundamental problem is that the core of Wipro business is cheap IT support to big clients working on legacy system that requires a lot of manual work. This contradicts the skills the people they have recruited and they are continuously being made redundant all over the world. I left before my team was also made redundant. They were given the bare minimum of money only as required by employment law, during COVID 19 pandemic. When each team was made redundant, the leadership team didn't even bother to call or email the teams. They asked one of their junior HR person to do communicate this instead. This tells you everything you need to know about this company.
