Pros

Wizeline offers solid benefits and from what I understand pays well for the Mexican market. Upon hire employees receive a MacBook, enjoy a fully stocked kitchen with 1-2 meals per day (depending on the office you work in), a stock plan, etc. Something I like about Wizeline is that their recruitment process seems solid. They hire talented people, which is the best part of having worked here. I learned a lot from your peers.

Cons

When Wizeline first started out there was a lot of opportunity for growth and advancement for hardworking employees. Now that the majority of the higher-ups are based in San Francisco and the majority of the employee population is based in Guadalajara, it is difficult to be recognized for your work. My perspective is that promotions have become much more scarce in the company unless you are 1) based out of the San Francisco office, or 2) close friends with someone influential. In my experience, managers have been quite self-interested, and not genuinely dedicated to mentoring or helping their direct reports advance. Of course, this does not apply to ALL managers, but there are enough to make it a notable "con". There is a very gossipy culture that struggles to give employees feedback and generally prefers to discuss the negativity and form judgements amongst themselves... Transparency as far as business goals are concerned has improved over the years, but and honest communication is a constant battle.

Pros

- Good work environment - People are great - Top execs take time to publically answer questions from anyone (question can be anonymous). - Top level clients so you could end working on projects that will be used for a lot of people. - Included breakfast/lunch/dinner

Cons

- I think that the hiring process isn't filtered enough. Sometimes there are troubles hiring for a particular position because of a lot of _bad_ candidates and then the first one that is fairly capable get the job. - People leaving the company doesn't seem to be a big concern for top execs, they just see it as people that need to be replaced. Maybe that's a realistic view, but for us, as employees, those people leaving are coworkers that we value working with and sometimes the replacements aren't that good. It would be good to have a better plan regarding this.
