While working with other analysts, consultants and managers can be rewarding, people sitting at senior management are some of the most clueless and egocentric individuals. They make decisions in their ivory tower in the UK and roll them out at their whim. Even as some non-monetary perks are above average, salaries can be uneven across the company. The company claims to be investing in energy transition as the growth engine but best salaries are still reserved for employees in the oils business. The process for annual reviews and promotions is opaque and punishes all round performance and only benefits if you play their game. For obvious reasons, employees in fossil fuel teams, including some with the biggest social media presence, are egregiously dismissive of energy transition. It seems as if their only job is to protect themselves and their clients from what's been the writing on the wall on climate change. Those dismissive views come out in almost every meeting, reports and social media.
