Pros

Being able to hand in my resignation

Cons

World Vision UK has become a deeply toxic workplace where fear and insecurity dictate the culture. Leadership is ineffective, with constant redundancies and restructures creating instability. The HR team fails to address serious concerns, allowing microaggressions to thrive. Trust is nonexistent, and leadership weaponizes faith—using scripture and prayer to justify poor decisions and silence dissent. Healthy challenge and original thinking are not valued; leadership only wants yes-men who won’t question their approach. The CEO abuses their position, having staff take part in activities unrelated to the charity’s mission—such as a world record attempt for MK Food Bank, where she is a trustee, and using World Vision offices for her church services. Under the current leadership, I can’t see the organisation lasting another five years. If you value integrity, fairness, and a supportive work environment, I’d strongly advise looking elsewhere.

Pros

Initial excited of serving with a faith based organization and doing good work around the world!

Cons

It doesn't take long to realize that WVI is not what it portrays to donors. I expect there to be a big unraveling of the organization in the near future due to a myriad a very serious issues ranging from confirmed child protection incidents to scamming donors, reported % of donations is much higher than what actually reaches the sponsored children's communities or programs (and no money goes directly to kids or family). This is a broken model. Meanwhile, CEO salaries are well over $500k. Lot's of infighting and people who want to keep their jobs just lay low. Don't waste your time and talent here- you will regret it.
