Pros
Very friendly co-workers. When I was a new engineer just out of college, the experienced engineers were very helpful, always friendly, and helped me become an asset to the company. I love the 4-10's (you work four days a week for 10 hours and get three day weekends every week). Good pay, and great benefits (though they are not as great now as they were before Obamacare). Besides sick days, you get 3 weeks of paid vacation your first year, 4 weeks for 1 to 10 (or 15, I can't remember which) years with the company, and 5 weeks of paid vacation for 10+ (or 15+) years with the company.
Cons
I wish there was a more structured teaching program in place for new engineers who come right out of college. The downside to contract engineering companies is that when the current project that you are working on begins to reach it's end, you start to worry about not having a another project to transfer to after it is over, and thus become unemployed.
