Pros

I've blossomed so quickly with everything they've provided. My career has been able to expand very quickly with the incredible environment Zillow has brought to the industry.

Cons

While not the highest compensation in the industry this is hardly a con. They understand how to make a job fun.

Thank you for the feedback. It's so important that we keep engineers fired up about Zillow. As you know, we try to keep our product teams small so that engineers and testers can have a lot of autonomy and make a big impact. Glad you are having a good time here.

Pros

There's a lot of great things to say about Zillow. They provide their employees the best possible: great benefits, amenities, work-life balance, holiday parties, and a great workspace to name a few. Many at the company are quite talented, and it shows. The charisma the CEO possesses is outstanding, and his influence definitely reaches to all parts of the company.

Cons

A mostly sink-or-swim culture. Many like to flex their muscles, and without proper guidance (which is often the case) can cause endless discussions, and at times cause frustration, obstructing productivity. The pay is lower compared to higher tier companies, but the returns in other forms help.

Pros

Zillow has a group of top notch talent. Ping pong, foosball, catered dinners for late nights, flex hours, snacks, kitchen, great view of Puget Sound, really nice people.

Cons

High office building if you are uncomfortable with heights. It is a fast paced organization adjusting its business needs quickly so users must be flexible in the need to stay late and or work weekends. The pay at Zillow is not the greatest and they emphasize the value of stock options which have no value until they are exercised. The morale has had its ups and down with a fair amount of turnover. Not sure of the exact cause as everyone has a story but when a company goes from a startup with a limited number of people and expands greatly in a short time period may explain things.
