BD is excited to share that Bloomberg has named us to its 2021 Gender-Equality Index (GEI), recognizing our commitment to supporting gender equality through policy development, representation, and transparency. It’s the second year in a row that we’ve been included in the index, a testament to our ongoing support of women in the workplace and our communities.

The number of women with patents has historically not been keeping pace with the number of #WomenInSTEM. As a member of BD’s WIN+STEM associate resource group, Alyssa Shedlock received support from @SWEtalk to change that by earning her own patent.
BD’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN)+STEM is an associate-led group that provides mentoring, coaching, and networking opportunities, working with orgs like @SWEtalk. Melody Kuroda is one of several who received a Patent Recognition Award this year.

Founded in 1950, @SWEtalk has worked to promote parity for women within the field of engineering, including supporting women bringing ideas to patent. This year, several BD associates join these ranks. Kelly is a leader of BD’s Women’s Initiative Network (WIN)+STEM associate resource group which works to provide professional development opportunities for women in STEM at BD through peer mentoring, coaching, leadership and networking opportunities.
