AECOM Environmental Engineer I interview questions

It was an exploratory phone call to see if we would be a match. Recruiter seems out of touch with the locality market salaries offered for the role. I tried to explain that it was equitable for the years of experience plus what they're offering in my area at other companies. He talked down at me and implied they can't pay me more than someone who's been there with more experience. That's not problem that the company doesn't pay their employees their worth. I gave my rate and if they can't meet it, end the conversation instead of bullying me into thinking I was being ridiculous. I've had a couple of interviews with other companies where the recruiters said I wasn't asking enough.
