I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon
Interview
I was referred by an employee and two weeks later received an invitation for a phone interview. The interview was with someone with the same position I interviewed for and lasted an hour. There were no background questions. Instead, the interviewer spent about 20 mins telling me about the company and the position and then gave me a case question that we worked on for the remainder of the time.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Sep 2014
Interview
The recruiter found me through linkedin. Title is BIE, but more like a statistician role. They have BIE do data or model depending on your background.
First round was a project, they gave me two days to build model and write report. After passing that, they asked me for two round phone interviews. In the phone interview, a lot of case questions, theory questions and SQL questions. And they like to dig deep in the case, whatever your answers is, they will ask questions based on your answers. And they like to ask do you think your (model, method, consideration) was OK? Or are there any bias? Pros and Cons?
