I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Barclays
Interview
Started with a first round interview on campus. I was contacted by a school alumnae the day before to help prepare for the interview. We talked about basic culture and the experience as a summer analyst. First round interview was 1-on-1 with an Associate who was an alumn. You must have a very good opinion about the markets and what is going on in the economy. They ask you to explain everything you bring up. I mentioned that I liked the options pricing unit in one of my classes, so they asked me Black-Scholes pricing questions. Do you research about the firm, and be explicit as to why you are interested in them. Called back for a final round at their office. Attended a reception the night before to network with school alumni at the firm. The final round was 2 1-on-1 interviews with Managing Directors. Nothing technical, but will probe your resume and try to catch you off guard. Don't memorize a script, because they will trap you. They asked about other offers and where they were in my rankings of choice. I was called the same day by one of the MDs that interviewed me and offered the position.
Amazing culture of investing in the people they want. Showed me a lot of attention and genuine interest. Everyone loves the firm and is 100% invested in everything they do. They understand prioritization and efficiency.
