I interviewed at Barclays (Manchester, Inglaterra)
Interview
First stage is a generic online aptitude test, the same sort of thing you'd see applying for a job at Tesco. The second stage started with all participants in one big MS Teams call to explain what was happening before we were split off to be interviewed seperately.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
"How do you fit with our company values?" They do provide a list of the list of values.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Barclays (Londres, Inglaterra) in Apr 2026
Interview
The application process includes the Disability Confident Scheme, which states that applicants who meet the essential criteria and opt in should be guaranteed progression to the first stage or interview. However, in practice, the outcome did not reflect this, and there is little transparency on how “essential criteria” is assessed at screening stage.
"Candidates who apply through the Disability Confident Scheme who meet the essential criteria for the role they are applying for will go straight through to the first stage of the selection process or interview, depending on the process. If you are an applicant with a disability or health condition and wish to apply through this scheme please tick yes."
Also their application form is so outdated and annoying to use.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Barclays (Londres, Inglaterra) in Apr 2025
Interview
The behaviours and initial tests are admin-heavy, but just unsure that you align to Barclays values.
Interview itself was sensible with the usual case study or portfolio review. Really enjoyed the interview discussions themselves.
However, if you do apply to Barclays, I'd warn you to expect to be ghosted in all honesty. In my last interview I was told to expect a follow up call to arrange next steps in a week, and I haven't heard back in a month. There's no way to contact the internal recruiters either to get an update, but luckily I've been successful interviewing elsewhere.
