Interviewer was not from the desk, but HR
I applied online. I interviewed at Barclays (Luton, East of England, England) in Oct 2014
Interview
I have applied online. It took around one month to complete. After passing the online test I was invited for an interview at Luton. It was a face to face interview and lasted for one hour.
It was really really a good experience in my life. They were very co operative and comfortable, and the interviewers really made me to answer for everything correctly!!! Questions were based on 4 main competencies related to our work or personal experience. In 10 working days I got the result that I have passed the assessment.
Although I passed the assessment I have some visa related issues. So waiting to get it sorted then only they can offer the job.

Question 1
Nothing was much difficult, But they asked about a risky experience in my job.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Barclays in Jan 2014
Interview
Standard Application followed by SHL Tests- very easy if you practice.
Telephone interview- scripted competencies. Do not try to be creative/ spontaneous- at this stage the recruiter may even be outsourced and is simply seeing whether you check all the boxes. Be enthusiastic,
AC-
Numerical re-testing if you're unlucky.
1-1 Interview with a VP from your selected division- entirely competency based with a few about why finance- nothing technical at all- again all scripted- 25qs in total about 45 min. Do your research about the role and the industry- barclays website has more than enough and this is all you need.
Group Task- rather sadistic setup with 8 candidates in the middle around a table and VPs and Execs surrounding you. Was given a task about coloured cubes- had to follow the instructions given- pretty demanding in terms of logical and spatial reasoning skills- make you clarify all instructions that are printed on the sheet with the HR administrator present. A good test to weed out the introverted and incompetent.
