Barclays Summer Analyst interview questions

1st stage is a phone interview for general fit and competency questions, and maybe some markets overview questions. 2nd stage, obtained by passing written application, numerical and verbal tests, and 1st stage was an assessment centre. Interviews with different desks in half hour slots (people had between 3-8 interviews on the day), and at the end of that day, or early next week, you found out if, or how many, offers you had.

I was expecting some serious technical question. But he didn't really ask any of that. We were just like chatting with no purpose. He introduced their recently launched team in Japan and some painful communication problems they had with Japanese. And very general behavior questions, also some of my previous experience. To me, all of that actually are meaningless. I think I did a good job, the only reason I got rejected is because another person has a more skillful conversation skills...
