I applied online. I interviewed at Coolblue (Ámsterdam)
Interview
The first step is HR screening. The interviewer didn't even turn on the camera. It felt like a conversation with a Robot. He asked a lot of situational questions as well.

Interview
I applied for a job online and got a call scheduled for the next day. However, during the call, the recruiter seemed a bit rushed and it made me a bit nervous. After telling him about myself, he asked me about my motivation for wanting to work at CoolBlue. Unfortunately, he ended the call right after my answer, because my motivation looks really bad for this company🤣 which left me feeling a bit disappointed 🙁 . I think it's important to take some time before an interview to reflect on why you're excited about the opportunity to work at a company. That way, you'll be more prepared and confident during the call. Good luck with your job search!

Interview
After submitting my online application, I received an invitation for a first interview within just two hours. During the interview, the recruiter initially seemed friendly, but I became confused when he started asking irrelevant questions about my age. He also asked about my qualifications, to which I explained that I am self-taught and only have a diploma. He proceeded to ask more questions, and then finally asked about my salary expectations. After I gave my answer, he loudly exclaimed that my expectations were too high, and proposed a lower salary than what is typically offered to a developer in the Netherlands. The recruiter then told me that, due to my lack of a university degree, it would not be possible for me to obtain a working visa, and therefore they could not move forward with my application. It was apparent to me that they were looking for younger candidates who could be hired for lower salaries.
