initial phone screen with a recruiter, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, or the top person whose team I would be on. I was filtered out after the second interview, so not sure of any further steps.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What area of communications do you consider yourself an expert in?
The interview was a 30-minute hiring manager discussion focused heavily on operational depth rather than surface-level technical questions. After a brief introduction, the conversation quickly moved into process mindset, project management structure, and campaign operations governance. We discussed tools like Monday.com and Jira, but the emphasis was less on the tool itself and more on how well processes are articulated and structured within the tool.
A significant portion of the discussion centered around QA frameworks, regulatory approval workflows, multi-region campaign management, and consent governance between Salesforce and Marketo. There were also deep dives into database strategy, handling non-marketable records, abandoned cart workflows, and differentiating transactional versus promotional communications in a regulated environment. The conversation explored lifecycle control, campaign hierarchy alignment, and integration with GA4, showing a strong focus on operational maturity and scalability rather than just demand generation.
Overall, the interview was highly conversational, scenario-based, and centered on governance, process articulation, and balancing agility with compliance in a complex digital ecosystem.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One of the key questions he asked was about how I would structure and define what a project management tool must capture from a campaign operations perspective — not just the tool itself, but the underlying operational framework. He wanted to understand how I think about process articulation, governance, regulatory approval checkpoints, QA layers, and scalability, especially in a complex, multi-region environment where compliance and agility must coexist.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Danaher (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2025
Interview
The interview was a simple phone call, the recruiter was in his car driving during the call. Just asked simple questions about my resume and why Danaher etc. Definitely a no sweat interview.
