I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at FedEx (Troutdale, OR) in Sep 2016
Interview
I was required to "watch a sort" before filling out an application. This part of the process is no longer necessary. Filled out application online. Called in for interview, and was only asked a couple of very easy questions. Orientation was scheduled at the beginning of the next week.

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at FedEx (Perrysburg, OH) in Mar 2017
Interview
I was called in the day after applying online to meet with a very nice lady from HR. She asked what shift I would be interested in working, as FedEx has many different shifts. She explained the pros and cons of each shift is as full detail as I could expect from a human resources representative. She was very pleasan, and she laid the job out in good detail.
However, after the interview, issues were encountered with my background check, and my hiring date was delayed by a couple of weeks while I reapplied. This happened to a few referrals of mine as well.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at FedEx (Miami, FL) in Jul 2016
Interview
Takes about two weeks from application to first shift. And its a human robot process very scripted. The further along in the process you get the more you'll understand that the interview is nothing like the working conditions.
