Interviewed with 3 people: the hiring manager, her boss and another Director who is a peer of the hiring manager. The position was open when my predecessor took another position. The hiring manager met with me to discuss the role and told me when the job would be posted. Once the job was posted, I met with 3 people including the hiring manager who help me prepare for meeting with her boss and her peer.

After investing pretty significant time across 6 interviews with their digital assets team, the recruiter ghosted. Never received a final update from them. Follow-up emails went unanswered, and the process effectively ended with silence. Regardless of outcome, was quite disrespectful and unprofessional. I was also surprised by the level of domain expertise. For a team focused on digital assets, several interviewers only had a superficial understanding of core concepts. In one conversation, their lead engineer challenged me on Ethereum finality. I explained that economic finality is generally measured in the ~12–15 minute range (depending on assumptions), while he aggressively insisted it was 2–5 minutes. As their technical lead, was surprising he wouldn't know something so basic. It made for a strange discussion and, along with several similar interactions, left me questioning the depth of expertise across the team. Overall, the process was underwhelming and poorly coordinated. I expected more from Fidelity.
