After investing pretty significant time across 6 interviews with their digital assets team, the recruiter ghosted. Never received a final update from them. Follow-up emails went unanswered, and the process effectively ended with silence. Regardless of outcome, was quite disrespectful and unprofessional.
I was also surprised by the level of domain expertise. For a team focused on digital assets, several interviewers only had a superficial understanding of core concepts.
In one conversation, their lead engineer challenged me on Ethereum finality. I explained that economic finality is generally measured in the ~12–15 minute range (depending on assumptions), while he aggressively insisted it was 2–5 minutes. As their technical lead, was surprising he wouldn't know something so basic. It made for a strange discussion and, along with several similar interactions, left me questioning the depth of expertise across the team.
Overall, the process was underwhelming and poorly coordinated. I expected more from Fidelity.

How would you approach designing these new products?
I applied online. I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Durham, NC) in Nov 2023
Interview
It was pretty straightforward. Phone interview, then two more interviews. Took a bit longer than expected because it was November when it started dot I didn’t get hired until February. The process overall was very smooth and they were very communicative throughout.
I interviewed at Fidelity Investments (Toronto, ON)
Interview
I had a 15-minute HR screening call, followed by an interview with the hiring manager that went really well. However, after that, I didn’t hear back from them. Despite following up with the HR multiple times, I received no response — and after three months, I finally got a rejection email.
