I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Goodwill (Santa Clarita, CA) in Jan 2015
Interview
The interview is no problem. Goodwill will hire anyone, you do not need experience retail or otherwise. They even hire mentally handicapped people. All the interview really is, is just them meeting you and telling you that you have the job.

Interview
Interview for the RSA/Part-time Cashier Position at Redesign by Goodwill:
I applied online and got a call about a week later to come in for an interview. The interview was super short (about 5 minutes). She described the type of person she was looking for and asked if I fit that description, they were all yes or no answers basically because she quickly moved on to the next question. The only open ended questions where I could explain myself before she moved on were, "Tell me about yourself" and "Would you hire yourself?" I honestly thought I wasn't going to get called back because it was so quick. However, I got a call the next day to come in to sign some paperwork for a background check. Once that goes through I will have my orientation and start working. I am getting paid minimum wage, which is fine for me because it's my first job.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Goodwill (San Antonio, TX) in May 2014
Interview
The hiring process takes about a month overall and you usually go through two interviews before you know if you got the job or not. The first interview was with store manager and then second was with store manager and production manager. After two interviews is when they send you for drug testing and background information. The second interview is more time consuming because that is when they really ask thorough assessment questions.
