I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Google in Jun 2016
Interview
Received an email from a recruiter asking if I would be interested in a particular role. After agreeing to chat with him, got a phone screen from the recruiter in which he asked basic technical questions covering OOP, Linux, SQL, HTTP protocols.
The next step was a hangouts interview with a member of the technical services team. The interviewer was 10 minutes late, and the coordinator blamed it on "accidentally" sending the wrong video call link to the interviewer.
The interviewer was visibly irritated from the get go, seemed rush, and has absolutely no interest in myself or my work experience. Did not look at my resume, ask about my background, or even introduce himself.
His questions ranged from vague how would you reduce costs if you owned a google product, to what metrics I would use. He then quickly rushed into a coding question. He was obviously not well versed in java as he used incorrect terminology as he was describing the problem he wanted solved.
The problem was simply representing numbers as strings.
All in all, I do not plan on participating in further interview stages with this company. Their lack of organization was appalling.

2nd Co-worker's technical interview
Interviewer asked lot's of question based on the my background but not asked variously and question didn't match with Job Description. Their job description is looking for the person who have experience with AI/ML data processing and analytics such as like Keras, AI platforms. Interviewer strongly focused specific subject and asked me about Kafka for 10 mins. He seems that he wanted to reveal my weakness and asked only that.

Interview
I had an initial call with the recruiter, whom was really friendly and nice! He explained the process for moving forward.
I had an initial interview based on a technical screening regarding Networking routing & switching
After passing the interview, I was invited to the onsite interviews which consisted of 3 rounds.
My results were mitigated according to the recruiter, so they added 2 additional interviews, I aced the technical interview which consisted of Role knowledge as well as Troubleshooting skills, unfortunately I failed the Googliness and leadership, they said that I passed all of the requirements except one which led to my rejection.
The whole process took about 3 months and it was very stressful and disapointing in the end. They invited me to reapply in 6 months.
Interview has 3 steps - screening, technical interview, and on-site interview. The last one being 3-4 rounds of interviews. Overall the interview process is challenging, however there are a lot of resources that can help you prepare
