      Support Engineer Interview

      Jan 11, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Google in Apr 2014

      Interview

Overall the questions weren't that difficult, but then she (manager) kept asking the same question over and over even after I gave the answer. Maybe it's the language issue, but then if that's the case we could've just done the interview in our mother tongue since we're both from the same country (I felt very weird why we're doing it in English since she's always stuck during our convo)... Moreover, her professionalism throughout the whole interview was questionable. She just sits down very unprepared, asking questions out of no where, and after having a few talk with her, I knew we wouldn't get along and even if I got the offer I won't enjoy my life there working under her. So yeah, thanking them for rejecting me.

At HyperTech Innovations, the interview process felt like a collaborative exploration rather than a test. Engaging discussions flowed freely, showcasing skills and ideas. Each stage offered opportunities to shine, fostering excitement for joining a dynamic team driving digital evolution.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you approach solving complex problems, and can you provide an example of a particularly challenging issue you've successfully resolved in your previous role? In what ways do you stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in the tech industry, and how do you envision applying these insights to innovate within our company? Collaboration is essential in our team. Can you share an experience where you effectively collaborated with colleagues from different departments to achieve a common goal? Our projects often require adaptability and the ability to pivot quickly. Can you discuss a time when you had to change course mid-project and how you managed the transition? Communication is key to success in our fast-paced environment. How do you ensure clear and effective communication with team members, especially when working remotely or across different time zones?

      Interview

Phone interview after speaking to several recruiters. Everyone I spoke with was extraordinary polite. Lots of behavior questions: motivating teammates, working with entry level employees, dealing with the stress of long hours. Far fewer technical questions than expected. Plenty of time to ask questions at the end with honest feedback.
