I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Google (Seattle, WA) in Jan 2017
Interview
I was referred by a friend and got a phone interview quickly. The interview went great and there're only two questions: a design X for blind and an estimation . I used framework and thought I did well. At the end of the interview, I was asking if there is any major feedback on the interview performance. The interviewer said "not at all. you did great." and told me he joined a year ago and had to go through the same. With your cloud experience, you would be a good fit here. Two days later, the recruiter told me that he received the feedback and the hiring team decided not to move forward any further. And I was so confused but recruiter would not share any specific reason.
So interview is 70% about luck.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Google (New York, NY) in Jan 2018
Interview
A very long process. Starts with an initial phone call with a technical recruiter. Afterwards you have the first hangsout interview and then 3 back to back interviews in their local campus.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in Dec 2017
Interview
I was referred by a friend for Product Manager position at Google. The hiring process for a Product Manager consists of a phone screening followed by an onsite. I was interviewed by an engineer and 4 product managers during the on-site. There was lunch break with a product manager which is an opportunity to just relax and learn more about the role. The phone screen happened in October 2017. Due to Thanksgiving break, the onsite was able to be scheduled for December, just before Christmas. I heard back result in first week of January. The experience was pleasant, and recruiter kept me updated as much as possible. Eventually I did not get an offer, but was invited to try again next year.
