I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google in Jun 2019
Interview
After several reschedules, i finally got my interview that was timed at 6.30am for me. so no coffee. it was a fun interview. several years earlier i had applied and rejected but i was able to get feedback then as to what went wrong, but i was self-conscious of making the same mistake (being scattered in my thought process). I did prepare with youtube mock-interviews, and a few kindle books. The interviewer was nice and got on with him, and i felt i did an ok job, but wish i had more time to go back to some aspects that i thought were important (and it turned out crucially it was)

Question 1
How would you design a washing machine for 20-30 yo
I went through a initial round with the HR and scheduled for 1 hour initial phone screening.
He was a product manager who called started asking the right away on what my favorite product. It could be anything I use in day-to-day life. Then, he asked to define the problem statement and asked to go through fundamental stages of defining a problem. It was very basic actually that you end up being nervous. The interviewer were very straightforward and only wanted to hear particular answers.
They were very transparent about what to expect day of, who I would be talking with, and how I could best prepare. There was a phone screen with a recruiter and with a PM prior to getting to the onsite interview. The onsite consisted of 4 interviews, 3 with PMs 1 with a senior engineer. PMs focused on strategy and design questions where engineer focused on technical questions.
