The interview process had multiple steps including phone screens and on-site interviews that used google hangouts. They also had me rank the three locations that I would be interested in for Google.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If Google were to build cubicles, how would you show that this promotes efficiency?
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Google in Dec 2017
Interview
Had a video call with one of their recruiters in London. The recruiter I was due to interview with changed 45 minutes before the call. Clearly he had a busy day and didn't want to do this interview which was covering for a colleague. Very short and rude, trying to wrap up the call as quickly as possible. The role was an 11 month contract, they don't hire Recruiters permanently (so I'm told, well not until you get in there and prove yourself anyway) so are always looking to churn through contractors. I suppose Google would look good on your CV but is it worth it to be treated so poorly, contractor or not.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Tell me the 10 things you would ask a hiring manager when taking a job brief
What are 5 attributes would you attribute to people who work at Google? After my answer for this I was asked to rate myself out of 10 on those attributes.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Singapur) in Nov 2019
Interview
I had one phone interview and then 2 face to face rounds, one hour each. You have to go through the entire process to not get selected. The questions were repetitive in both the rounds and the process was quite monotonous. Lots of hypothethical questions not even related to Recruiters role. These strategical questions should be asked for managerial role.
The staffing channels associate lead was unfriendly, upset, lacked energy and empathy. He kept on asking same questions and it seemed like he just wants to hear what he wants. Suprisingly, I was also asked if I had kids (I didn't expect this coming up considering google known for its inclusiveness)
Overall the process was taxing, lengthy and frustrating.
