I first had to go through an online code screen, and was then scheduled for two back-to-back phone calls with engineers. One of the people interviewing me was rather unpleasant- he dismissed most of the questions I had for him (as a college student, I was very excited to speak to Google engineers) and left a bad taste in my mouth.
Correspondents back and forth for the summer months until applications opened up then coding sample for the first round of interviews. Followed by phone interview if successful in the coding sample.
