I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in Jan 2018
Interview
Applied for the Tax Associate role in October 2017, but the position kept getting reposted. In January 2018 opted to email the Hiring Manager since I noticed via Taleo my application was sent to the Hiring Manager for “further evaluation”. Within a week of sending the manager an email I received an email for an interview.. During the interview, I informed the manager that my resume was sent to her for review and that is when she informed me she never got it. In addition, I noticed whenever my resume would pass the ATS process and move into Recruitment review the role would keep getting reposting thus placing me back into ATS status.. It became obvious the Recruiter did not want to consider me for the role.. If it wasn’t for me emailing the manager expressing interest an interview would have never commenced.. To you internal candidates if you notice a role that interest you email the manager as it’ll yield quicker results.. Further to my interview, and after it concluded the Hiring Manager pinged the Recruiter to let him know I was interested and this allowed us to have the long awaited conversation.. However, I mentioned to the recruiter that an outside offer was also being considered but really wanted to stay with the bank.. Not sure what he relayed to the HM and People do not I repeat do not be 100% honest as it’ll certainly backfire as it relates to an external offer.. Because I was not offered to continue with the hiring process. It was easy for him to relay my offer as he did not want me to get the role anyway look at how many times he’ll “repost” the role without contacting me even if my resume was in his queue for review.. It took an email to the HM that landed me a phone screen.. So people be careful as corporate recruiters can be snakes..
