I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at KPMG
Interview
The position (stage at M&A team) was for the associated law firm to KPMG. The interview last almost 2 hours. During the first part I was asked information about my experience. Then I had to complete an online english test (listening + grammar), which was pretty easy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked questions about my personal and work experience (i.e. why I chose that specific university, what did I enjoy mostly while working at my previous law firm etc.). Then they asked me to tell about my work experience abroad and which kind of cases I used to looked after.
I was not asked any particular situational / behavioural question like "what would you do if....".
The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG in May 2013
Interview
Online tests, followed by a telephone interview, an assessment center with simulated client and internal meetings and finally a partner interview. The phone interview is competency based and you need to come up with loads of examples. The partner interview can take any shape or form.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG (Melbourne) in Mar 2013
Interview
It was the computer based practical question, asking you to solve a 'real' problem. Then, it was the one on one based interview with the potential supervisor. The interviewer was nice enough to make you feel comfortable.
