I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG in Nov 2010
Interview
I applied through my school's career website for the Summer 2011 Audit Intern position. My application was accepted, and I went through a first-round, on-campus interview. The night before the interview they took the interviewees from my school out to dinner - it definitely helped break the ice and I felt that it gave me a leg up. If you are offered an opportunity to attend a "pre-interview social" such as this, I highly recommend that you attend. The next day was my first-round interview, and my interviewer was very laid-back yet to the point. It was a behavioral interview with no trick questions - just the basics, such as strengths/weaknesses, a time where I was a leader, etc. I was invited back for a second-round interview which took place about 2 and a half weeks later at my preferred office, better known as KPMG's Inside Look Program. It consisted of two one-on-one half hour long interviews - again, no trick questions, they referenced my resume mostly and asked questions about my work experiences, etc. The Inside Look Program was on a Friday, and by the following Monday afternoon I received a phone call informing me that KPMG was extending me an intern position. Overall it was a speedy process, and the people were incredibly friendly; they truly wanted you to do well on your interviews.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Name a time where you demonstrated your leadership skills.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG (Philadelphia, PA) in Nov 2010
Interview
First met on campus with a senior manager who asked basic behavioral questions and wanted to make sure I could communicate. Next was invited into Philadelphia office for the Inside Look Program. This consisted of a panel discussion, office tour, and two interviews with a Partner and Audit Manager. These were the same type interviews that wanted to test to see if you could communicate in a professional environment. Everyone was very nice in the office. My advice would be to relax and be yourself and just answer the questions honestly.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me a time when you were in a tough situation with a group project and how you dealt with it?
The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at KPMG in Oct 2009
Interview
There was an initial on campus interview. After that there was an on site interview. They were both pretty easy, not technical in nature. I brought in technical concepts myself. Most of the questions were fit/behavioral. Why audit, why KPMG. Where do you want to be after graduation? Make sure you intern where you want to work after you graduate. Just makes everyones lives easier.
