I went through the career services my university offered. I submitted an online application and I got an on-campus interview. From there, they accepted me into a sort of leadership program during the summer. There they interviewed us for internship positions summer. At the end of the program, I got the offer for a paid internship.
The process took 2 days. I interviewed at KPMG in Feb 2011
Interview
I started off with a phone interview with the manager, which is straightforward if you prepare in advance. I was then called to the office where I met with the manager, and several other staff members, and also went to lunch with some of the associates. The format was structured but there was definitely room for me to ask my own questions and try and turn the interview into more of a conversation.
Overall, be yourself and don't take it too seriously. Do not sound rehearsed, bring some passion into your answers and it will show.
I was impressed with the team and work environment - they were welcoming and friendly and I knew I was hoping for a positive outcome.
