I applied through college or university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at KPMG (Lubbock, TX) in Mar 2016
Interview
The first step was qualifying for the "Meet the Firms" process at my school. After you qualified, the big 4 gave presentations [as well as national middle market and regional firms]. After you heard the presentation, you could apply for an interview. I applied and was accepted. The interview went well and I was invited to an office visit as well as other recruiting events before the visit. These events went well and they offered me an internship.

Interview
Met with a partner from Chicago, very conversational interview. Very little pressure but it was through a matching program with my university in Wisconsin. Interviewed with all the Big 4 and KPMG was a clear best choice for me.
