Arduous and formulaic. No way to shine while trying to remember points that need to be covered. I didn't feel like I could show who I was, or be myself.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What would you do if someone came asking for a patient?
I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at NHS (Mansfield, England) in Jul 2020
Interview
Involved one panel member in the room and one via a laptop. Quite a quick interview with about 8 questions altogether. The 2 members asked 4 questions each and then I was told they would let me know the outcome.
MLA position in the histopathology department at Wythenshawe hospital. Standard NHS application form; education, employment history, references and then a more detailed supporting information section.
Interview started with a 15 minute practical assessment which involved checking filing systems for errors, checking slide labelling for matching information as well as comparing two sources of patient information and checking for errors or matching.
Interview was extremely scripted. Absolutely no conversation outside of the set questions. Not much opportunity to convey background or personality.
