I applied online. I interviewed at Paychex (Rochester, NY) in Aug 2019
Interview
It is a very standard interview process. A brief phone screening from HR, one with the hiring manager, a 2 hour in-person. I did not have a negative experience with the people I spoke to during the interview process.
However, please be warned that their system is awful. I would get text messages congratulating me on moving to the next round before I ever heard from anyone (and mostly, it took several days for someone to follow up with what exactly the next round even was). It was long, drawn-out and when it was over, the entire Paychex team went radio-silent before an automated message came around. I sent a final "Thank you for the experience" email which again, went ignored. In my experience interviewing at many companies, this is one of the worst places for candidate treatment so just, be prepared for that.
My best advice would be to play into the egos at hand.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Paychex (Rochester, NY) in Aug 2017
Interview
There was one round of phone screening and then another direct round with technical and HR questions. Two employers took the interview. The whole process took around 10 days. There was a background check and drug test.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Paychex
Interview
Long and dragged out. Had to do unnecessary tasks to prove that I wanted the role. Ended up getting the job but took 2-3 months. Manager was hard to get ahold of.
