I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Henrietta, NY) in Mar 2019
Interview
Had a pretty detailed phone screen specific to the job. My background, what I knew about the company, some behavioral questions. A few days later got a call back for live interview with the hiring manager, which was a higher level discussion about the role, the org and his philosophy, after that came back and met with a would be peer for a more technical and more structured interview and shadowed multiple positions.
Whole process was very professional and comfortable.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Paychex (Denver, CO) in May 2019
Interview
Applied on Indeed after being contacted by a recruiter. Interviewed over the phone about a week or so after initial contact, in-person office visit a couple of weeks after that. The office interview was very comprehensive, lasted about two hours, and I spoke with multiple people as well as shadowed someone working the position I was applying for. I received an offer the next day.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paychex (Saint Petersburg, FL) in May 2019
Interview
Spoke with a recruiter and then was set up with an in person interview. Arrived to the interview 10 minutes prior and didn't actually sit down with the two managers for 25 minutes after the scheduled interview time. There was no mention of their tardiness. From there a pretty much standard interview. Both managers were generally unaware of sales methodologies that were discussed. It seems like their sales reps don't know how to generate new business besides trolling CPA offices all day long. I also don't fit the typical physical profile that Paychex reps have.
