Interview
I applied online through their Careers page, and was contacted by an HR rep a few days later to have a phone screen in early November. They just asked about my professional experience and my resume, and it went well enough that they wanted me to come in for an on-site, about 2 weeks later.
The on-site interview was 3.5 hours long, and consisted of 4 rounds of interviews, one 2:1 and three 1:1's. In the first round, two of their engineers asked me a few technical questions regarding what occurs with respect to the program stack when a function is called, and then they had me solve 2 LeetCode Easy problems (listed below; they literally had me work these problems on the LeetCode website using one of their laptops). I was able to get through the first LeetCode problem fairly quickly, but I only had 10 mins to try and solve the second one, so I wasn't able to finish it in time.
The next rounds were a lot less technical, and were primarily questions on whether or not I had experience with a certain tool or framework, such as AUTOSAR. One round was primarily behavioral questions on how I'd react in certain situations. They also gave me a short tour through the Irvine facility, which looked like a massive version of an automotive lab you could find at a university; I was honestly really impressed with the work environment. Overall, I felt fairly good about how I performed during the interview, but unfortunately they did not extend an offer to me, and sent me a rejection email 2 days after my on-site visit. However, my experience with them was pretty positive, and so I'd be happy to interview with them again in the future.
Excellent interview process. The hiring team was very cooperative. There were two rounds of the interview process. The entire process lasted around 2-3 months. Pretty smooth. First round was a phone screen. The second round of interview was more to determine the skills review and see if it was a good fit.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Rivian (Palo Alto, CA) in Apr 2020
Interview
This company discriminate candidate with visa status. they have an extensive immigration form asking you to fill out. The questions on there are not even right to determine someone's status. They ghosted me after i told them my work permit will expire next year but i can renew it without any issues. The recruiter then called me explain that my status required me to leave the country etc ( they need to hire a new immigration lawyer team because this info is not accurate). Overall, i can tell that they discriminate my background based on my visa status.
