I applied through other source. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Rivian (Livonia, MI)
Interview
Longest interview process I have ever seen:
1. Telephonic interview with Director (who approached me) and Manager which lasted around 45mins with technical and behavioral questions.
2. Onsite HR orientation at Lovonia which lasted around 2hrs. This included facility tour, review of company, policies and employee benefits. (At this point I was thinking maybe they are ready to offer me?)
3. Then came the invitation for another onsite all day interview which I denied since I realised they did not value my time. (which was the deal breaker)
People in this company seem to be fairly inexperienced when it comes to the interview process (although they have been around since 2009)
When approaching someone as a candidate, they need to realize value of time since some people are losing money for taking time off from their current jobs.
I applied online. I interviewed at Rivian (San Mateo, CA) in Apr 2017
Interview
After several phone interviews I went on site to speak to different members of their teams for about an hour each. They asked to evaluate my presentation skills and my recruiting skills. Lasted about 4 hours.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Rivian (Detroit, MI) in Oct 2016
Interview
A lot of talking not a lot of process. No one seemed like they had ever really interviewed a person before. Everyone seemed easily impressed with anything I showed or said. HR was particularly clueless. Her primary goal seemed to be convincing me she was smart not finding the best candidate.
