The first few rounds of interviews were pleasant, but one interview stood out as unprofessional. The interviewer seemed to have already decided he wanted to hire a candidate fluent in Mandarin. It was clear that the interviewer was disengaged and not listening carefully to what I was saying. A specific Mandarin question was then asked by the interviewer. As a Chinese Singaporean seeking work in a Singapore office, I am very disappointed that the company prefers mandarin-speaking applicants.
