I applied in-person. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Starbucks (Irvine, CA) in Sep 2011
Interview
Went to an open house interview session. Met with a super friendly and kind DM who put me at ease immediately and ask a few screen questions about my previous jobs and managerial experience. I was then told that I had selected to move on to another interview to be held with 2 DMs and I would be contacted to set up a time and date. I was contacted exactly a week later and have my interview scheduled for tomorrow. I am really excited about the opportunity and hope it all goes well,

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks in Aug 2009
Interview
Applied online, which included a mini test on how to deal with certain situations. After completing the online application received a phone call and had a prescreening for about 5-10 minutes. Next was a phone interview that lasted about 45 minutes. Finally had an in person interview with a current store manager and the district manager. This one lasted about an hour and a half. After that it was the basic verification and background check, then was given the job offer.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Starbucks in May 2010
Interview
I was really impressed with the interactive "Virtual Job Tryout" that was part of their screening process. It took an hour or so and was actually fun to complete...giving me a little insight into how Starbucks thinks. I haven't had any contact since the "tryout"...but hope to be able to move forward in the interview process.
