I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Staten Island, NY) in Jun 2012
Interview
I submitted an application but I was turned down. I called back asking for an interview. They gave me one.
There are two interviews: one with a team lead (your direct manager-lower level) and an executive team leader (your main boss). It was a very impersonal and straight forward interview process. Apart from the standard questions (tell me about yourself, what's your greatest weakness, why do you want to work at target etc.) they ask leadership based questions and scenarios (ex. what would you do questions. what would you do when things get busy?) They record word for word what you say. Very simple process.
Very friendly receptionist, very engaging first interviewer, with 3 interviews. Friendly atmosphere, no stress. The second interviewer was a bit rude, flipping his pen around and terminating the discussion about particular question as if he was bored with my answer.
More questions that were asked are typical according to the other questions asked, like tell us about a time where you exceeded expectations, or tell us about a time you worked in a group and what was the outcome. If someone were unhappy with your results, how would you respond with that. Finally, they also asked, what are your strengths and weaknesses...they asked me this one twice, so be prepared to give different answers.
