I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Target (Oak Creek, WI) in Jan 2011
Interview
I applied online and recieved a phone call about a week later to come in for an interview. Online application was typical and included a personality test. When I arrived I was asked to complete a 10 minute or so test working with numbers, times, and spreadsheets. I then interviewed with a member of HR and a backroom team leader. No questions were asked about my experiences, just vague "name a time..." type questions. Signed a waiver for a drug test, which must be taken if offered a position. I was told I would be called the next day if selected but recieved no call. I believe I was over qualified for the position, and was made to understand they interviewed more than 12 people for 3 openings for a two month seasonal position.

Question 1
Describe a time when you were challanged by your work and tell how you overcame it.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Los Angeles, CA) in Sep 2010
Interview
Started off with a phone call asking to come in for an interview. Upon arriving to store, had to do an intelligence/assessment test (most questions were on how to interpret graphs and calculate percentage of process/load), then walk to back of the store to HR office. HF office seems extremely laid back.
It is a 1:1 interview with two different interviewers but I'm not sure if they were associated with backroom or not (they could both possibly be HR personnel). Waited about 30-40 minutes in between interviewers since there were several others interviewing. Both interviewers asked 3-4 situational questions while jotting down keywords to fill the positive column and negative column, then they circle a score based on how well you answered. Questions include "describe a time when you had conflict with a team member or supervisor", "describe a time when you had to do something you didn't have the skills for", "tell me a time when you and your coworker had to work together on a task".
I was interviewing for Backroom Team member day regular shift (which is what i applied for) and was asked if I could work up to 40 hours a week. Received a call a few days later asking me to come in for drug test/background check. Came in and discovered they offered me a Sales Floor TM seasonal instead. Interview wasn't hard but disappointed they offered me something I didn't apply for without putting in the courtesy of letting me know on the phone before coming in for the drug test. Overall the hiring ethics and professionalism left me with a sour impression of the company. However, an income regardless of regular or seasonal is still income. You take what you can get.

Question 1
Tell me a time when you needed to perform a task that required a skill you didn't have
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Target (Allen Park, MI) in Sep 2008
Interview
I applied at a target kiosk, a couple of days later they called me in for an morning interview. The interview was more laid back than others. The usual (why do you want to work here?), (describe a time when..) kind of questions. Done in about 10min, 3 hours later got called back in for another 10min interview with a supervisor and was offered the job. Background check took a week, then I had to come in to talk with the manager, then a drug test a couple days later. Overall a 2 week process.

Question 1
not a difficult question, just 1 I remember. Describe a time you had to solve a conflict with a co worker.
