I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Mar 2013
Interview
Had a brief interaction with an H.R. person who tried to get me to work in a different section of the store. I said I was not interested in interviewing for a job I didn't apply for (the pay was less, the hours were less.) The interview questions that followed were very standard customer service interview questions.
The second interview was with the (I forget the term) "head" backroom team lead. He mostly explained the job, how it was different from being on the sales floor, and what would be expected day-to-day task-wise. His questions were more related to multi-tasking and I think there was some questions on a form related to products in bulk and some simple math.
Then there was a "group" interview (which I didn't know was an interview at the time) that was framed as a "Welcome to Target" session. Here, we filled out information and were given training materials specific to our jobs.
