I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Target (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2012
Interview
After filling out an application online, I recieved a call about 2 days later to schedule a phone interview for the next day. During the phone interview, they verified my availability and asked some situational questions. At the end, she scheduled me for an in person interview the next morning. When I got there, I took a quick assessment, then waited for the manager to come out. She took me back to the offices, watched a quick video, then she asked me some more situational and behavioral questions. She left me in her office and said another manager would be jn shortly. The next manager immediately offered me the position, contingent upon a drug test. Overall, I found the interview process easy, but a lot more extensive than I expected for a part time cashier position.

I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Tampa, FL) in Oct 2012
Interview
After applying in store and answering couple questions, I got a call about 10 days later. I set up the interview 8 days later. Before the interview, you have to go to the application computer to complete an assessment that will take you about 15 minutes. Then you go to the Guest Service and they will tell you where to go. When I came they were in the middle of a "huddle". After they were done, a lady brought me in a small back room. She asked many behavioral questions, and nothing about me. She never said a word and took notes while I was talking. When I was done, she got up and told me she would call or email within a week. At this point I knew I didn't get the job because I read you have a second interview right after. I gave a blank stare and left. Three days later I received a Target email "sorry, unable to offer you a position at this time". Process is overrated.
