I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Washington, DC) in Sep 2009
Interview
There are two interviews... one with a team leader and one with an executive. They both ask you the same questions about yourself and also some behavioral based questions. Every interview is formatted in the exact same way. Sometimes you have to do phone interviews. Just think about stores from your real life... think about several stories and then tie them back to the questions that they are asking you.

Interview
After filling out an online application, I heard back from Target within the month. I received a call from the Guest Service Team Lead and had a phone interview on the spot. At the end of the phone interview we scheduled an in person interview with the STL (store team lead). I was offered the job during the interview with the STL.

Question 1
What was one time when I excelled at what I was doing, what was it and how did I go above and beyond?
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Menifee, CA) in Oct 2010
Interview
The interview was simple. Just the basic retail interview. For example, 'why do you want to work at Target', 'why did you choose to apply for a cashier', 'where do you see yourself with Target in 5 years'. And then there's the basic job interview where they ask, 'tell me about a time you were frustrated with another employee and how did you deal with it', and the 'tell me about the time you went above and beyond and how did it affect you' type thing. They don't really mind of what you're wearing, just don't be wearing anything provocative or anything that will get you in trouble. After that, I got a call about 30 minutes later saying I was hired and needed to do a background check and a drug test. Then after that, got another call a week or two later saying I passed the tests and needed to come to orientation. (;
