I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Target (Reno, NV) in Nov 2013
Interview
There was Two phone interviews, one Skype interview with the regional manger, and an in person interview at a local store with their head manger. The interviews took place over a period of a couple months. The internship is over the summer but I applied and was accepted by the end of November. At my location Reno NV, it was pretty competitive to land the internship so I would recommend applying as early as possible. This internship is meant to train you for a specific job, if you complete the internship there is a very high chance you will be offered a full time spot at Target.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked for a specific time I made a mistake in a professional situation and what I did to remedy the mistake. They want very specific answers about what specific action you took. Be ready to talk about past accomplishments and failures. They do not want broad generalizations about your personality but rather an exact recount of a situation and what you did during that situation (negative or positive).
I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Target (San Diego, CA) in Nov 2014
Interview
Two Interviews, one in store with STL & one with district manager. Pretty straightforward, behavioral questions. They are looking for leaders, dedication to career, etc... Overall I felt like the interview was fairly straightforward with not too many curveballs. If you are interested in retail, then this a good job for you
I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Target (Minneapolis, MN) in Jan 2015
Interview
Very friendly and nice interviewer. Pretty standard questions for the most part and very engaging interviewer. They were very interested in your engagement/passion for wanting to work at Target. Definitely got the feeling they cast a very wide net in their intern applicant pool.
