I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Tesco in Sep 2015
Interview
Found the job through indeed.com. Got a call a few days later, they asked if i could attend an interview that week but i couldn't attend so we rearranged. They were very amienable! Interview was about 30 mins, and the manager asked me 4 competency questions (tell me about a time you didn't agree with your manager, give me an example of how you have worked in a team) and then we walked the shop floor to check my 'customer service' skills. Basically they want you to ask customers if they need any help!

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesco (Burgess Hill, England) in Sep 2015
Interview
It was a group interview. They went around asking us all a few questions and then we had to build a tower out of paper, pencils, cellotape and pens which was eco-friendly and 6ft tall. Mine was less than a foot and very ugly but it didn't matter.
