Basic training and Advanced Individual Training. Once complete, you are transferred to a "real" Army unit. You can't be fired and there is no real interview process. If you don't know how to do the job, they will train you. Budget cuts are starting to kill lengthy TDYs and necessary training for all of the changes that the Army has had over the last few years. Defense budget cuts are killing the military.

Medical review and questions about drugs and health problems. Weight/height, urinalysis, duck walk to check motor skills. Various paperwork, to include checking ASVAB score and bonus to determine appropriate position.

I just sat down with a recruiter and told him what I wanted to do and he signed me up. I joined the military because I do not come from a wealthy family and I couldn't pay for college. One of my biggest incentives for joining was they pay for your schooling.
