No interview process for most units. A common trend among Brigade Commanders (the leader who selects Company Commanders) is to have them first serve on the Brigade staff when they arrive to a unit out of their Captain's Career Course. There they will be assessed and selected for Command

Interview
In search for training in electronic communications, was first told after Air Force four-part exam, yielding one 90% and three 95%, that there were no opportunities left in that field. Declined offer of jet airplane mechanic. Queried Army enlistment to find same situation, sans exam. Was told there might be placement in this field within the intelligence branch for an additional year of enlistment. Chose this option and received such training, but had no direct application to civilian employment, so work in this field could not be continued.
