I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Army (Mechanicsville, VA) in Aug 2008
Interview
Very simple. A clean criminal record, Drug Test, Physical, and Physical Fitness test are required. Also, you must take the ASVAB. A Recruiting station will walk you through the requisite steps, and as long as you are moderately healthy you will most likely be able to enlist. Most requisites can be handled with a weekend trip to a MEPS center.
