The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Verizon in Jan 2010
Interview
It was the Five Star interview. I do believe they are no longer using this process, however. What ever the interview process currently is, It will be structured questions each applicant is asked in order to ensure consistency.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Louisville, KY) in Feb 2012
Interview
I had 2 phone interviews with HR and then 1:1 Interview with the hiring manger. HR interviews were about 30 minutes each. 1:1 interview with hiring manager was about 1-1/2 hours. Was told I would be called in for a 2nd 1:1 interview, and that has been over 2 weeks??

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Verizon (Southfield, MI) in Oct 2011
Interview
I had a phone interview with a member of HR where I was required to disclose all of my previous employers - including specific dates of employment - for the past 7 years. At the end of the phone interview I was invited to come to the site 4 days later for a skills test and a 1:1 interview with another member of HR. The skills test was on a computer and required basic problem-solving questions as well as a multi-tasking simulation. At the end of the interview I was asked to come back to meet 1:1 with a supervisor. In this interview I was asked basic questions about previous experience, situational questions and I also listened to some phone calls with customers and was asked to provide feedback on how I felt the VZW reps handled the calls. About two weeks after the first phone conversation I received my job offer. Following the offer I went through a drug test and a background check.
